It Was the Hour

SINCERITY

Inspired by the opening verses of Sri Aurobindo’s epic poem ‘Savitri’, we present our live composition-performance as meditation on the eve of Sri Aurobindo’s birthday, 14th August at VAK Conference 2017, Saint Petersburg, Russia.

. . .

It was the hour before the Gods awake.
Across the path of the divine Event
The huge foreboding mind of Night, alone
In her unlit temple of eternity,
Lay stretched immobile upon Silence’ marge.

— Sri Aurobindo . Savitri . Book 1: The Book of Beginnings . Canto 1: The Symbol Dawn . Lines 1-5
